Osceola Fish Camp View of the St John's River

St Johns River

Before the first Geneva-to-Sanford road was built in 1910, the distance was covered by a 30-mile boat trip down the St. Johns River.  The FEC RailRoad line built a Railroad Bridge at Cooks Ferry, which ran from New Smyrna through Geneva to Lake Okeechobee, which provided train service until the late 1940's, when the RailRoad Line was removed & the buildings were taken down.
